Speeds and Feeds—Aramid Honeycomb Tools

  • Below listed speeds and feeds subject to variation from different treatment process, fixturing, etc.
  • If cut face of material appears to be getting too hot, increase feed rates or drop spindle RPM
  • If material tearing occurs at cells, decrease depth of cut and/or step over distance rather than plunging if possible when pocketing or roughing
  • 15 degree ramp angle is desirable
  • Conventional cutting is recommended for the slicer combination tools whenever possible but is not necessary if climb milling is required
  • Cut direction is not important when using CoreHog™ carbide roughing tools. Ramping into material is recommended
  • Listed speeds and feeds are to be used as a general guideline; adjustment may be necessary on a case-by-case basis
